scanix QR Version uses QR (Quick Response) code to capture a student's attendance at the Institute & is ideal for Institutes who allow students to carry mobile phones on the campus, like colleges & few coaching institutes.
Each student downloads the scanix Student App on their Mobile Phone & logs into the system using his/her credentials.
The Teacher generates a unique QR Code for each lecture/class & displays it to the students via a projector / print-out / via his mobile. Students then scan this QR code to mark their attendance in realtime.
This mode is called Dynamic QR because the QR code itself is never static — it automatically refreshes every 20 seconds for as long as the lecture's attendance window is open. This prevents students from clicking a photo of the code and sharing it with classmates who are not physically present, since any code older than 20 seconds is automatically rejected by the app.
Dynamic QR also comes with two additional layers of control built specifically for classroom integrity:
- Auto-refreshing QR Code — a brand new code is generated every 20 seconds, so a screenshot or a code shared over chat stops working within moments
- Geo-fencing — the Institute defines the campus coordinates/boundary in advance; a student's scan is auto-rejected if their phone's GPS shows them to be outside the geo-fenced campus area, preventing proxy attendance from off-campus
- Time-bound Scanning — the QR code is only valid for the exact duration of the lecture/class; scans attempted before the lecture starts or after it ends are automatically declined
- Allows Admin to have a real-time attendance tracking of both students & staff
