scanix Bus Barcode works exactly like Bus QR Attendance, except every passenger's ID card carries a fixed 1D barcode instead of a QR code — the same cost-effective barcode technology used in scanix's Fixed Barcode Mode for campuses. It is purpose-built for schools and companies that have already printed barcode ID cards and simply want to extend the same system to their bus fleet.

Instead of a teacher or gate scanner, the Bus Operator — the driver or conductor — carries a compact wireless barcode scanner paired with the scanix mobile app on their phone or tablet. As each passenger boards, the operator scans their barcode ID card, and the system instantly returns an Allow Boarding or Reject Boarding decision — no manual register, no verbal confirmation, no ambiguity.

Just like Bus QR, Bus Barcode supports the optional Fees Addon Module. Every scan is checked in real time against the passenger's Bus Fees record — if fees are unpaid beyond the configured grace period, the operator immediately sees a "Reject Boarding — Fees Due" alert, automating fee compliance directly at the point of boarding.
